Herbst Maerzen

Herbst Maerzen came to the table served in a frozen mug. Once the ice cleared I could see how thick this beer looked. It was a very hazy copper color that looked darker in the middle than at the edges. I had a brown bottom ale that also was like this, it normally is not. I think there may have been an issue with the brewing of these batches, but they are selling them to the public, so a review is fair game. The taste was okay, it had that malty flavor I expect of a Marzen, it wasn't bad, it wasn't stellar, let's say average. I wasn't pleased that the beer was in the frozen mug, which doesn't happen too often to me there, and the beer didn't look too appealing either, but it tasted okay. Average overall.
