Mather's Maibock came to the table a dark orange with minimal head. Smell is predominately caramel malt. Tastes pretty good, caramel malt is most noticeable, but there was also a nice amount of hops in the finish. Highly quaffable, this is definitely worth a try.

Medium carmel color, almost no head at all. Faint carmel malt smell. Taste was pleasantly surprising full carmel malt, roasted barley noticable with wisper of chocolate malt. Crisper finish than a few other Maibocks I have had. Slightly thin bodied but still very tasty and drinkable. This beer definitly grows on you after a slow start. Good enough to seek out if you're ever in the neighborhood.

Burnt caramel/chocolate in the mouth, clean quick finish, missing some of the malty sweetness I've found in others (Smutty's for example), this beer is not as rich in the initial taste but delivers a suprising explosion of taste. As stated elsewhere, however, I found this beer was served much too cold. It has some nuances of flavor that are completely masked and distorted in the first couple of sips. As this beer warmed up, much more style and quality became apparent. Well done try at a Maibock, but there isn't much around the area for competition.
