Color - golden amber, very pretty. Just about the only thing I liked about it.
Smell - Hoppy, but without the benefit of any other scents or aromas to spice up the flavor.
Flavor - Bland, more robust than the average college swill but still not anywhere close to the quality I've been sampling through my local growler man. Alcohol flavor is very present.
Mouthfeel - light, but nothing spectacular.
When it hit - little while after dinner. Unlike an IPA it didn't instantly make my face start buzzing (a hillarious experience when combined with multiples), but it is starting to kick a little.
All in all, an average beer. A little more nuanced than the watery junk that's often provided at school parties, but I wish I hadn't bought an entire growler. It's the kind of beer you drink to get drunk, not to write poetry over.

Pours a deep copper color with a thin head. I've been told by Rick, this is a Scotch Ale, not an Amber Ale. Lots of malt character with a little sweetness and very little bitterness. Has a light mouthfeel for a Scotch Ale. Overall, not a bad Scotch ale.

Had at the brewpub, as a palate cleanser in between the two good seasonals. Plain malt experiecne, and a little sour. A tad thin mouthfeel. A little colour, a minimal head. Neutral aroma. Least liked of four (five with the beer in the back coming out).
