Very good local offering. Especially when fresh. A much better beer with this new recipe. Could offer a tad more ibus but overall, very acceptable American IPA. Cheers Eddie and Erica.

Poured on-tap at Charlie and Jake's, this beer was served in a pint glass. The beer pours a pale, muddled, orange-gold color with a ring of filmy head. Hoppy aroma, with resiny sweetness to it. Flavor is sweet malt that is slightly caramel, and a good balance of green and peppery hops. The aftertaste is both peppery dry hops and resinous green hops. Bitter, crisp finish. This one is very tasty.

From the wait staff: "it's hoppier than usual, they used a new hop. it's kind of grainy." Comes to the table, a very hazy orange with no head or lacing. Smell: a bit of sweet malt and spiciness. Taste: again, orangey citrus, spicy, raw leafy notes, sweet, some toasted pale malt in the finish, sweet. Yes, somewhat grainy from the complete mess of raw-ish hops. This thing was hopped to the point of an IPA, but messy and with not enough finishing hops. Maybe they did use a hop variety they didn't have much experience with? It took a while to get through, but they only had 3 of the 5 beers on their menu+website available, so was in no hurry.

I think I got the end of the keg or they stirred up a lot of yeast. This looks like pale orange juice that is not filtered. It has lot of yeast character which I do not expect in an ober hopped pale ale. The hop character is quite good and is quite citrusy. It has a very thick mouthfeel and a kind of grapefruit like flavor. This beer would be fantastic if it was put in a secondary fermenter before the keg. I hope I just happened to get the bottom of the keg.

Grapefruit colour with white head and lace. C-aroma. Unfiltered version, with grapefruit taste.
this is one of the two winner out of five at the brewpub. Served at room temperature, appropriate almost flat of Co2 like a cask, a good break from the other too cold ones.

Hey, now this was one of the better brews (the brown the other). VERY nice APA, a perfect blend of citrus and floral notes in the taster, since for me the florals sometime come across too strong. Only shortcoming, the aroma was a bit lame.
Hazy amber with a lacey white head, a good looking beer that slid down smooth but with a sassy finish. If I was in a hop mood, Id polish these off for a session. (If in a malt mood, work the brown).

Anniversary Ale came to the table with a light orange color with a small white head. The aroma had some malt and some hop going on. The taste is definitely dominated by citrusy hops that were nicely balanced by the malt. It's one of their better beers, imho. Overall an enjoyable beer. Definitely worth a try.

Medium tan color with a thin white head. Huge bitter hop nose dominated by Cascades. Very bitter but appealing smells. Decent malt undertones match the big bitter cascade bite, really hoppy. A bit thinner than expected, but very drinkable. Matches well with their tangy southern bbq dishes. A solid example of the style, won 2nd place in the '97 GABF. Good enough for me
