Tried this beer at a hangout. Beer pours orangy with a bitt too much carbonation for me. Smell is sweet, which I found a little odd. Taste was a bit of corn, molasses, and some kind of fruit. Definitely no hops in there.

This was a decently drinkable beer. However I wouldn't venture to find this one.

It's hard not to like the bottle of this beer, but I hold out little hope for its contents.

Pours a thin clear gold colour, with a bit of frothy white head that dissipates like soda to almost nothingness, just a thin collar around the edges. Lacing isn't too bad, but nothing exceptional.

Smell is lightly sweet, with a mustiness like warming bread dough. Even a back note of brown sugar which is unusual and unpleasant. Just sweetness. It's worrying.

Unfortunately, the nose does not lie, and the beer immediately layers a thin brown-sugar/caramel sweetness over the tongue, peppered with a prickly carbonation that would only properly mesh if there was a sharper bitter note as well. It ends up tasting sweet but bland, prickly yet thin.

Across the board, an unimpressive beer. I can perhaps see the appeal from a broad-based beer-swilling thin-flavourless-and-unchallenging public opinion point of view, but it does not have much to offer above that.

BB: 15/07 2009, Haha! Ten minutes to spare. ...or not, once I click "review".

Love the label. Bottle for $2 or less at New Beer. A jaguar is the inspiration for the label, but I don't see it. Poured into tonight's glass, the Ommegang anniversary stem.

Lot's of Co2 wafting off the lip of the bottle as I pour. A couple inches of sizzling eggshell soda head. A clear, greasy yellow golden body.

Smell is seriously greasy with margarine & creamed corn notes. Some apple juice, some plastic. Terrible.

Do I have to drink this? Yes. Wait... The bottle is just so mesmerizing.

Taste is surely seltzer water & popcorn flavoring. Not even any noticeable grain. Where'd everybody go?!

Feel is slick, & so-so carbonated. It makes me uneasy. It just adds to the disappointment.

Honestly, one of the worst beers I've ever had the indignity of trying. Ugly.

This pours a cloudy light golden colour. A slight head but not much to speak of.

Lots of sweet malts going on. it does say 100% MALT in big letters on the bottle. I don't mind it.

Well no surprise that the palate is all sweet malts. A bit of vanilla and caramel in there and not a lot else.

On the heavier side of medium bodied.

I don't mind this. I was expecting to be close on undrinkable but very pleasantly. Not sure how many I could down before the sweetness got a bit much though.

Pours a golden colour with modest off-white head, strong fizz when poured; I could hear it crackling like bacon on a BBQ. Lots of bubbles making their pilgrimage to the mouth of the glass. Leaves moderate lacing. Not bad, not great.

Pheeuw, would you take a whiff of that. Insanely sweet malt all over that. Elements of rotting mango, pawpaw and a big whiff of creamed corn. No hops whatsoever, sickly sweet and really quite repulsive. A perfect testament that different does not equal good.

Taste has most of the same elements as the nose, only they're not quite as strong or powerful. Aspects of vanilla, sweet corn and some meringue on there, but the sweetness is not subtle or balanced, it just seems to fizzle for a second before dissipating. Finish is a bit cleaner than I would expect given the dominant sickly flavour, but not nearly as clean as it could have been with just a few more hops. A very slight bitterness on the back can't kill the puffy sugar monster that rampages through the palate of this beer. Mouthfeel, however, is decent, a light tingly sensation on a slick, refreshing body.

This feels like an experiment gone wrong, an attempt to create a powerful malt bomb using the wrong yeast and not enough hops. I definitely could not drink this beer every day. And probably will never again.

EDIT: Having read the other reviews, the bizarre flavour could perhaps be attributed to the shipping process? Somehow I doubt it though.

Got this bottle off the shelf at the nearby Supermercado Carrefour here in Recoleta, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Got the second one in so as to avoid light struck. Poured with a decent white head and some lace. Had a slightly hazy tarnished brass color. Aroma is malty with a hint of hop and some grass. Flavorl's about the same. Body is medium. Finish is more malty sweet than bitter. Serviceable, but nothing special.

I tried this beer on August 31, 2007 at the Smokeless Joe's in Toronto. The beer poured a very pale translucent yello colour with a thin head that dissipated quickly. The aroma was weakly grassy with a hint of malt. The mouthfeel was thin and crisp with some mild carbonation. The taste was very reminiscent of the grassy/rice taste associated with a lot of other pale lagers. Not a beer I would try again or recommend to my friends (or my enemies).

I am assuming that the clear bottle version labelled "for export to Canada" is the same as the one pictured. Anyways this is a pretty lame Corona knockoff ( as opposed to Carib which is a better version of Corona). Light blond with minimal nose, this is a beer to be dosed with a lime as it had little flavour except for a slightly tinny note on the finish. Not a good beer
