500 mL brown bottle poured into a pint glass.

Note: I am not gluten/wheat intolerant/allergic, just trying this out of curiosity and perhaps to recommend it to friends who are. This beer should be judged based on what it offers to those, and not judged alongside 'normal' English bitters as it seems the other reviewers have done, IMO.

A: lots of frothy head leaving tons of lacing, sits atop a clear amber-brown beer.

S: slightly sour, vinegary--unusual but not necessarily unpleasant.

T: strong hints of apples, an almost sour quality--not great, but a decent alternative for those who simply can't do gluten

M: fizzy, thin mouthfeel, almost like a lager.

D: All in all, this is not a horrible beer--especially considering what they are offering to those who wouldn't normally have ANY beer choices.

Like the other Green's Gluten Free beer that I've tried, this looks good but its all down hill from there. It has a nice burgundy hue with a foamy, thick, tan head. Some lacing. The smell is like sour apples, not ripe crisp apples. It had that odd sour taste mixed with hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is a little thin. It simply isn't worth trying. I've learned my lesson.

Appearance: copper brown, slight haze, frothy layer of off-white foam that quickly collapses to thin spittle and then completely disappears as you drink the beer

Aroma: slightly sour whole-wheat bread, breath of woodsy hops

Flavor: fluffy maltiness witha slightly tart zing; a bit green-appley; a distant acrid bitterness that isn't identifiable as hops; finishes dryish with a cidery aftertaste

Mouthfeel: medium-light body, zippy carbonation, a bit watery

Other comments: Well... I'm glad I'm not allergic to wheat and gluten because this is just not very good!
