A ‘classic’ Belgian pilsner brewed from natural spring water, barley malt (gluten removed), and selected hops. Serve chilled.
Tasting Notes
Golden straw in colour, the refreshing citrus aroma of the hop dominates. Hints of vanilla are followed by a hop taste that holds some slight bitterness.

Poured from a bottle into a Hoegaarden pint glass in low altitude Galway, Ireland, on December 10th, 2010. This is brewed (and bottled) in Belgium, NOT England.
A: Pours a clear bright yellow with a very thin head. Looks overcarbonated. Three finger head is pathetic and retains poorly. This may be the worst head I've ever seen.
Sm: A bland stale note of barley.
Taste: Strange (probably due to the maize in the recipe). A flat open with a schizophrenic body: a sweet overtone topped by a very clean but very unpleasant off-barley note (again, this may be the maize). Metallic touch on the finish. Unpleasant. Watery (the touch of doom the way I review beers; a beer should taste like a beer, never like water).
Mf: Too watery/wet, too smooth. Bland.
Dr: It's brewed poorly for this style and is an insult to Belgian beer. It's only saving grace is its price.

Strange one this: brewed by De Proefbrouwerij in Belgium and like all Green's beers is brewed without gluten.
The 330ml brown bottle, best before 3rd Jan 2011, drank abd reviewed 23rd July 2010. Poured into a Veltins stemmed Pilsner glass (twice).
The beer was a pale yellow with a lemon hue and a very slight haze. The pure white head never really grew up to much, but it leave some lacing.
The smell was the normal nothingness most lagers/pilsners give off, hints of not much to be honest.
The taste was very dry, one of the driest pilsners I've had. The nasty metallic flavours some beers in this style have appeared towards the end of the mouthfeel.
Not overly impressed.
