A complete lack of aroma surprised me. But the flavor was rich and malty with a hint of coffee and chocolate. Taste was rich without heavyness or any off-taste bitterness. A smooth drinking porter. Head was light tan and nice and full, but fell quickly.

The actual name of this beer is: Spanish Springs Billy Bowlegs Buffalo Beer. It is mislabeled here.

Full roasty aroma with mild coffee notes. Very nice aromatics. Dark brown with a thick mocha head. Coffee, cocoa, roasted malts and a bit of toast in the flavor. Very solid porter that could be fantastic if it were slightly thicker.

At the recommendation of KK from Dunedin, I was finally able to find some good beer in central FL. It is a challenge! But Spanish Springs came through. I tried four of their beers -- all four very good. The brewer, Buzz, and assistant brewer, Doyle, were very accommodating and helpful.

The porter (it probably had a name but I didn't write it in my notes) poured a dark brown with a small head turning to lace. (This had to do with the soap used in the cleaning of the glasses.) When held up to the light, the beer produced brilliant inviting ruby hues.

The aroma was of the dark malts and roast. Very clean and matched the appearance of the beer....

Really nice roast and malt flavor, but balanced nicely with hops. A very smooth beer that you could drink all day long.
