This was one of three beers released at Bull McCabes in Durham on Friday, March 13 (Firkenteenth). It was a great event and what I thought to be a huge success. The stout easily went dry in less than 10 minutes, it was a great beer. I would hope they release another stout very similar to this next winter.
A: The beer pours big and black, with a dense dark oatmeal colored head. The head and lacing were very similar to Guiness. A very sexy beer.
S: This stout has an unbelievable chocolate aroma with strong notes of coffee in the background. It almost smells like a sweet mocha, very inviting.
T: Wow, all of the flavors combine in perfect harmony. The chocolate, coffee, and fresh raspberries pair very well. On first impressions, it tasted very similar to a mocha espresso with a raspberry finish. Later, a black & mild cigar came to mind.
M: Unfortunately this beer was on the lighter side of medium bodied. It definitely had a bitter and drying finish, but was extremely smooth and silky. A very impressive texture.
D: There were 5's, fives, and 5's all around the bar. It was a delicious beer that would compliment any dessert. Luckily we were sitting directly infront of all three casks so we were able to sample all the offerings of the day.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
