Poured froma a growler into a 16oz Libbey Munique elongated tulip glass

A- Pours an absolutely crystal clear lemon/bright gold color with a conservative 1/2 finger white, creamy head. (5.0)

S- Unsalted saltine cracker, lemongrass and a hint of herbal spice. As it warms, orange/tangerine citrus (courtesy of the Pacifica hops) reveal themselves. Due to the fact that this is dry-hopped, I would appreciate a more pungent and hoppy aroma. However, this remains to be a near-perfect example of this (infrequently brewed) style. (4.25)

T- The flavors in the nose play out perfectly in the flavor...cracker (again, of the unsalted saltine variety), lemongrass, spice and citrus are all present and blend well. Despite the elevated ABV (somewhere b/w 8-9%), is absolutely nowhere to be found. It finishes dry with a mild citrus rind bitterness. (4.75)

M- The body (at best) falls on the heavier side of light...for a beer touting an elevated ABV, this is one deceiveable brew. The balance is exquisite: refreshing, nicely carbonated and possesses a bitterness that is dry, but far from astringent. (4.5)

O- Simple but rich in flavor and aroma, this is a perfectly balanced and well-crafted Czech Pilsner of the imperial persuasion. C.H. Evans/Albany Pump Station offers great beers, great food and great atmosphere. If you are in the area, be sure to make it a point to stop there and enjoy some of their wonderful beer profile...cheers to head brewer, Ryan! (4.75)
