I had this on tap at the brewpub. It looked the part, hazy orange color, thick looking white head. Similarly it smelled the part, lots of bananas, maybe some cloves, but more than anything yeasty esters. All of this comes through in the flavor, plus a little bit of ethanol.
Creamy texture, nice mouthfeel, this is pretty much spot on in every way and could be tough to distinguish from the known German standards. I do prefer the smoked version they made several years ago, but still this was well crafted.

I added this as a separate beer since it is almost 2% older that the previously Miloweizen.
A: Very hazy golden orange color. A little bit of yeast floating around in my glass. A little less than a finger of white head with a touch of lacing.
S: Big banana note right up front. You get a little bit of the fruit esters you want but it smells like a BIG heff more than anything else. You get the wheat with a little bit of sweetness in the back. Just the slightest hint of alcohol but not that much. I almost prefer this style to smell a little bit boozy.
T: Big wheat taste right after front and then the yeast gets to show off what it can do. Tons of banana. Then the big fruity esters come in. Little bit of spice in there. Never get the big dark fruit component you expect. A little bit of plums in the finish.
M: Just super smooth. A little bit creamy.
D: Dangerously drinkable. No hint of the ABV at all. It is described as their heff on steroids and that is a good description. I really liked this beer quite a bit. Make it year round. Bought my 4th growler of this after lunch.
