C.H. Evans Brewing Co. "Maibock"
at the brewery on 4 June 2016
$5/16 oz.
Appearance: Clear deep copper colored body beneath a creamy head of off-white.
Aroma: Floral, malty, and mildly fruity.
Flavor: Malty, caramelish (perhaps a slight touch too much), spicy and herbal. A stiff bitterness leads to a dry finish that lingers with caramel and spicy and herbal hops.
Mouthfeel: Medium leaning towards medium-light in body with a gently bristling standard carbonation.
Overall: A solid take on the Maibock style. Nicely balanced and rounded with the hops coming through nicely, giving it a little life beyond the maltiness.

second one that i got to try from these folks here we go a lager beer from them
poured into my glass deeper than a typical pilsner but looking the same in head color, only difference here head disappeared quickly
aroma was basically absent here i did get a faint smell of malt in the background
taste was average too there was nothing standing out at this point, it was balanced real nice but the problem was the beer was sort of boring nothing distinguishing going on here
mouthfeel same too, nice but this beer did not entice me at all or make me want to come back crying or begging for more
overall its an average beer, seems like a filler beer for the menu

A - Pours a golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down to a thin ring around the glass leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is a mix of sweet malt and some mild fruit. There is also some light spices and some citrus fruit as well.
T - Starts off with some sweet fruit and caramel flavors with a touch of light spices. Through the middle some citrus hop and a bit of honey sweetness come through. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel and some spice that lingers nicely.
M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth and crisp with a nice slightly dry finish. There is also some nice sweetness in the lingering flavor.
D - Very drinkable. Very nicely balanced with a slight dry/slightly bitter bite that is really nice. The fruit flavors blend in nicely with the beer.

Was glad to see this at the pumpstation this past weekend.
A: Very clear golden color. It almost looked filtered but I don't think they even have the ability to filter to this degree. Minimal white head. No lacing to speak of.
S: The nose was a little bit tight. The malt was crisp and clean. A few fruity esters behind that. Nice and to style.
T: Very nice. Perfect balance. A little bit of fruit came through but the malt really was the star. One of those beers where it doesn't have that much going on but it is satisfying.
M: Low carbonation. Served nice and cold as always.
D: I drank two pints and could have had another. Went really well with my burger. Just a really great drinker.
