Brewed for and tried on tap at GABS festival in Melbourne, May 2014.
Pours a bright red colour, pinkish in tone, very cloudy as well which I guess helps with that colour blend. Head is definitely pink, foamy and retaining beautifully. Looks awesome.
Smells very sour and acidic, but massive complexity throughout. Notes of grapefruit and pineapple come to mind with a slight French oak character, notes of vinegar and barnyard. Lots of vinegary acid. Fruity, berry. Smells awesome.
Plenty of acid on the palate as well. Grapefruit has disappeared but replaced by strong pineapple and cranberry character, descending into vinegary finish, with more of that French chardonnay oak character, finishes quite barnyardy and reasonably bitter. Body is very thin, sadly, which allows the bugs to really sharpen the finish. Very nice otherwise though.
Nice cleansing drop. Loads of acid; a well put together sour.
