Pours copper with a large, off-white head.
Nose shows piny and grapefruit hops, spicy rye and creamy nutty malt. Lots of creamy nutty malt!
Similar flavours. Lots of spicy rye and darker malt. Pine and grapefruit enter afterwards along with an assertive bitterness to balance things out.

After entering this competition and not winning i was keen to try it and glad Cellarbrations got a keg of it so got my growler filled and it pours a light copper hue with a creamy two finger head and clingy lacing everywhere,the smell is spicy rye,herbal hops and floral bouquet,the mouthfeel is just under medium bodied and has tastes of spicy rye,herbal earthy hops,candy,fruit salad and finished with a citrus zestiness thats only a touch bitter and overall its nice and easy enough to drink but honestly would of prefered different hops to Styrian and First Gold but like i said easy enough to drink cheers.

Pours a lovely ruby colour, genuinely red which can be hard to achieve, with a soft, filmy off-white head that crowns it magnificently. Solid body with fine carbonation. Good clarity. Overall, it's a near immaculate looking brew.

Mild spicy malt on the nose with a twang of rye acidity, and hops that give a slightly soapy, green pine like brusqueness. Again, very nice, and a nice balance between the two.

Light entry on the palate, with the grain coming through with a flat, husky beat. Slightly sharp soapy bitterness again from the centre of the palate, with the rye taking up the charge again later, peaking through the palate towards the back. Very nice again. The feel is a little light. There's plenty going on here, and it could use a little more support.

Overall, though, this is an extremely drinkable and enjoyable brew. The rye is done amazingly well, and really accentuates the spicy characters in the description. It could use some more expressive hops—as it stands it's like "yeah, there's hops in it", but not "look at my awesome hops!".

But I really enjoyed this as a beer, and I'd really like to drink it regularly. Great work.

A - Poured a brown, rusty colour. One finger of off white head. Bright spot of lace. Film retention.

S - Tropical fruit, citrus, good malt, some spicy notes, fair bit of caramel.

T - Spicy. There might be rye in this. Citrus, bready, caramel, fair bit of spice.

M - Good carbonation, medium body, bitter/spicy finish.

O/D - An interesting beer. Flavourful and interesting. Spice was a bit much, but it works. I could have a few.
