No can date.
Pours a giant foamy semi dense creamy 2 finger head with great retention, sticky soapy lacing, hazy just about cloudy reddish-orange color
Nose smells a bit old unfortunately, aged hops, sweet candy malt, toasty slight reddish malt with a little caramel, mild candied orange peel, marmalade, when I really try I can get some tropical notes and a little grapefruit
Taste more sweet malt, raw wort like sweet malt flavor, candy malt and a little toasted reddish grainy malt and caramel notes, medium-high bitterness, with hops getting a bit spicy and earthy, some fruits mixed in, stone fruit, some pineapple and grapefruit, a little generic tropical and generic citrus, but hops flavors are muted and again it tastes old, candied stone fruit and orange marmalade, pineapple candy syrup, sticky sweet finish with long spicy bitter hop finish
Mouth is med to fuller bod, a bit syrupy and heavy, higher carb
Overall definitely not what I expect from Ipswich. I'm fairly sure this is on the older side, but I've only had it a few weeks so not sure, plus it doesn't have any great characters that stand out, and it gets too sweet and syrupy, also too bitter for a NEIPA, so meh, I'll def have to try it again and try to get it fresh. As it stands this is probably the worst Ipswich beer I've had.
