First had: on tap at the Dunedin brewpub
Listed as an IPA dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin.
Poured a lighter amber color with a small foamy white head that receded to a wispy layer; moderate lacing. Aroma was a bit strange, earthy and grainy, with some misplaced fusel alcohol notes, herbal hops, but not really much of the fresh Nelson Sauvin goodness that I've gotten from other beers that showcase said hop. Taste was a bit better, toasted grains, herbal and earthy hops, light notes of white wine and citrus pith. I'm a fan of Nelson Sauvin hops, but like I said before, this beer didn't really seem to display the typical fresh, fruity taste that I usually get from the variety, which I found a bit weird. Medium body to this beer, a decent drink overall, other than that awkward aroma. If I had to guess, I'd say that the hops were not fresh when this was brewed.
