First had: on tap at the Dunedin brewpub

Listed as a "strong lager" to briefly sum up what a maibock is for those who don't know, I guess.

Poured a deep copper color, hazy, with a thick white ringlet for a head. Biscuity malt aroma, toasted grains, sweetness like dried fruits, and a bit of earthiness. More of the same in the taste, biscuity malts, yeast, toasted grainy bread, hints of raisins and prunes with maybe a dash of clove, mellow earthy hops. Medium body, fairly smooth mouthfeel, alcohol right about where it should be. Pretty good overall.
