On tap at the Swamp Head Brewery.
The pour was a slightly reddish amber with a large bone-colored head.
Very herbal and not entirely rosemary, with a hint of vinegar or sour tang. This doesn't carry over to tasting, where only a light tart note is present, and the herbal component is far more restrained than the nose suggests. Relatively low level of funk, but it is present and seems clearly yeasty. Hints of ripe fruits and dark spices.

O: a very interesting and complex brew that is a little challenging to drink but has a very good aftertaste.

A little weak on the head side...but remember (self) it is a Saison. It is a bit "tingly" on the tongue, as I expect.

Appearance is a beautiful unfiltered pool of dark amber. Not good for swimming but for drinking? Yep. Just what I want after a hard day of pasture work.

Taste is pure farmland. 'depends on what the owner of the property concocts. No issues here. Malts are a bit prominent in this case but nearly not worth mentioning. Some harshness...on the bitter side...good balance IMO for the style.

A full bodied mouthfeel...bubbly...lingers a while. This is an IMPRESSIVE 8-percenter...alcohol is hidden surprisingly well behind the curtain. Kudos.

Overall? Hey, I am on a Saison kick and Saint Somewhere is all about that. If you see it try it. Their brews are always a treat.

On tap at Kickbacks in Jax. Poured into a small snifter. Dark leathery in color. Small light beige head, low retention, mild lacing, soapy. Aroma certainly dominated by the rosemary. It actually tickled my nose upon quaffing. Really beautiful aroma. Some caramel sweetness in the back and some fresh tartness behind the rosemary. The taste is very complex. Spicy, sweet, tart, wispy, floral. Belgian yeast/candi sugar in the back end. A splendid twist on an already amazing beer. Nothing subtle about the flavor and I'm glad the rosemary is so forward. Another masterpiece from the master of masterpieces. (Bob)
