The only beer I have ever liked from this very mediocre brewery. It hits all the right notes for a Tripel- spicy, slightly boozy, yeasty, some fruitiness... it won't blow your mind but it is really well made.

On tap at the POPE.
Golden-yellow pour, clear, with a well-retaining white ringlet. Looks good enough. Typical tripel stuff in the aroma and taste, Belgian yeast, essence of banana and sugary malts. Not my favorite style...actually one of my least favorite styles. Not terrible, but doesn't really offer anything unique. If you like tripels, then you'll want to give it a try.

Gimmick beer for pope visit to Philly. Had on tap at Cherry Street Tavern. Absolutely no head or any hint of head retention. Too sweet for a tripel. Looked a little too dark too, but tough to see in dim lighting. Glad this one is a one off. Glad to have tried, but that's about it. Disappointing for how much press it's gotten.
