Delivered in a clear pint glass after being drawn from a tap. Well, it's certainly not black. It's dark brown and not even dark brown on the fringes. It's opaque, but not closely murky. The lovely head is even lighter, it's much more biege than tan. There's a strong roasted coffee/malt aspect to its aroma which surpasses all else. The taste is also black coffee forward, without much of a contribution from the roasted malt. Yet, it's rich enough for its taste profile, whilst keeping the lightness of a lager. It's a nice infusion of the tastes of lager and coffee, although the coffee taste dominates. The glass lacing is good for a lager and the finish bitterly better than many. Liking the taste of roasted coffee is a prerequisite for liking this one.

on draft at the brewery, in pint glass
black in color, thick cream colored head. decent head retention. Mild roast, and quite hoppy in the aroma. taste is similar, with a dry finish. medium bodied. Overall I really like this one
