First had: on tap at Brewzzi, Boca Raton, FL
Dark amber pour, clear, with a ringlet of white bubbles for a head. As with their farmhouse ale, I think Brewzzi tried something they weren't quite capable of, failed, then sold it anyway. Aroma of thin caramel malts, phenols, fusel alcohol. Taste was pretty phenolic and medicinal up front, morphing into something vaguely raisinish, bland caramel malts, slightly earthy. Medium body, boozy, but not too bad for the 11.1%ABV. Overall, not a very good representation of the style, and certainly nothing I'd get again.
