Clear golden straw with a vibrant, frothy head.
Aroma of barley with hints of noble hops.
Tastes of grain and mild malt. Light citrus present.
On the thin side with subdued carbonation.
Looks can deceive.

1 pint 0.9 fl oz brown glass bottle with pry-off crown cap nabbed at a beer store in New Orleans, LA for $1.65 USD plus tax.
5.0% ABV. "Pils Lager Beer."
Malt backbone drifts towards the biscuity/hay end of the spectrum, violating the clean crisp pilsner malt core any beer in this style should have. Grassy hops are there, sure, but that tug towards hay/straw-like flavour is there hopwise as well. Almost tastes more like a kellerbier to me without the unbunged oxygenation....it just has a "dirty" sort of rustic flavour that just doesn't line up with style conventions. Shallow, simple, muddled, out of focus, imbalanced.
Stale lemon...like when you leave a lemon in the fridge for 2 weeks or something. I probably got an old bottle, but ABK doesn't seem to care enough about QC to give their bottles a clear easily understandable date code so that's on the brewery in my book.
A deeply disappointing pilsner across the board, but it's drinkable for what it is.

It pours a light straw yellow color with a good head that lingers. The smell is malt and the taste is sweet malts with a mild hop at end. The feel is thin but not watered down. Overall a good beer just above average.

16.9oz bottle batch code JG BI B AH
1" white pillow-y head on a golden pilsner with a slight haze. Good retention and is still solid at 1/4" a couple of minutes after the first pour and foamy lacing left behind.
Sweet grain, pilsner bready malt and a subtle grassy/floral spice in both the flavor and aroma. Non-descript for the most part.
Clean, crisp, dry entry but somehow a lingering bit of sweetness in the late finish that marks it down a notch for me.
4pk of 16.9oz for $6.99 is a good value but I was hoping for a home run, this one was an infield hit and outrun to first base.
