Dragon Berry Tails

Very cloudy goldenrod body with a foamy white head that fades to nothing, slowly, leaving a few dots on the glass. The nose gives a very real dragonfruit aroma, backed by moderate hop bitterness. That being said, it's a weird, pungent smell, not exactly enticing as, say, orange or lime. The flavor takes on a more traditional IPA flavor, putting the hop fruitiness first, and that odd, pulpy dragonfruit flavor second. An improvement over the nose, as the dragonfruit was just too odd to be the star. The body is soft and rich.
As dragonfruit is a pretty mild fruit, I'm surprised by how much of its essence was put into this beer. As gimmicks go, this one was true to the shtick, but about as returnable as all other concept beers.
