An English IPA, beautiful deep copper color & an off-white creamy head show off the earthy Munich malt & caramel undertones. Flavored with 4 different hop varieties.

Taste: spiced, crisp, herbal, citrus fruit, hops, with malt character. Floral hops with a roasted spice nose. Deep amber hue, clear, soft refined head and nice lace. Medium to med/full body. Balanced. 20 IBUs

Tap

Pours mostly clear coppery golden, eggshell lacing for a head.

Smells of barely, biscuit, and a hint of earthy hop.

Flavor is of molasses, biscuit, and earthy and herbal hops.

Medium body, light tingly carbonation on the tongue.

Very interesting ale, some rich malt to offset the hops. Almost cloyingly sweet but works as a sipper. Worth trying, I don't see this style approached often.

I thought the Golden Promise was a solid beer. It poured a copper clear with white head that left a nice lace. The scent was slightly bitter with hints of citrus. The taste was balanced for an English Style IPA sweet malt followed by a bitter finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall this was good and I would have it again.

Snifter.

Dark amber with a finger of beige froth. The head fades in half a minute and lacing is scattered. Good clarity.

The nose is a pleasant blend of toasty and caramel malt notes. Hops impart floral earthy aromatics. There's a light fruitiness that I attribute to the yeast: date and plum.

Rich bread and caramel malt flavor with an upper low to lower moderate bitterness that balances out the sweetness. Plum blends with date and earth. There's a dash of alcohol in the drying malty finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and sticky.
