Another of boatshoes' gifts to me following his return from China last year! The CANQuest (TM) (naively) never envisioned including such beers and it is a pleasure and an honor to be able to do so. Part of the delay was so that I could access a decent camera in order to add a picture of it to the site.
From the CAN: Other than "Na'ale Beer Stoutbeer", I CANnot impart anything due to its inclusion of Chinese lettering. Sorry.
Once more, the Crack & Glug was replaced by the rare Pop! & Glug, given a modern-day pop-top CAN not seen in the US since the late-1970's/early 1980's. A finger of thick, deep-mocha head quickly formed and then began to slowly fall, leaving sticky lacing in its wake. Color was a deep, dark-brown with burgundy highlights at the edges. Nose had an odd combination of sweet and sour - chocolaty sweet underlain with a mild sourness. Mouthfeel was thin and watery with a metallic bitterness initially, giving way to a chocolaty sweetness on the tongue. Finish was more of the same - metallic chocolate. boatshoes felt it should be listed as a Black Lager/Scwartzbier, but I am going with what it had on the CAN. A change CAN always be requested, I suppose. At any rate, no matter what the style, it was not worth seeking out.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
