Drunk directly on the brewpub the beer shows a colour like a monk's robe with ruby reflect and a medium foam with brown color, creamy and compact on average: discreet.
The flavour is dominated by a pleasant malty with hints of chocolate and cocoa in well evident. Also in the mouth the chocolate and the cappuccino effect is very sharp. It is peculiar that all this chocolate and cocoa is so present in a Schwartz beer: notes are too similar as a Stout style!
Some hints of dried fruit can be felt in the aftertaste (pleasant and rather long, always with chocolate in evidence).
Nice beer but not in "standards" of a Schwartz: we say a liberal interpretation of the classic style, but a good one.
Later we discovered that should be a smoked beer. When we drunk a smoked side is absolutely not perceived. For this reason, and due to the beer's name we put this like a Schwartz.
