The bartender told me it is the same recipe as the Downtown Trolley Brown brewed at the Chapel Hill location but under a different name.
Poured a soft brown color. Not a customarily dark for the style that I expected. Thick white head that dissolved altogether. Nose is simply mildly malty--kind of a disappointment.
Flavor was spot-on for a watered down brown ale. Malty with some nutty characterstics. Even a slight hint of sulpur. But the overall flavor was of the water. Mouthfeel was thin and felt like it had been cut with water (like my dad's vodka when I was in high school). Not the best offering of either Carolina Brewery locations.
