This review is based on old tasting notes, so apologies for the lack of detail.
Appearance - 3.5
Darker than average for a pils, smallish head.
Smell - 3.5
A surprising toffee aroma is the predominant smell. Some hops and malt are detectable. Interesting, but not hugely appealing.
Taste - 3.5
Wow, I am shocked to taste this much toffee in a pilsener! To be honest I think it is overkill if anything, as the flavour does not entirely suit the style of beer.
Mouthfeel - 3.5
A nice level of carbonation, moderate weight in the mouth.
Drinkability - 2.5
Unfortunately this beer's surprising toffee personality makes it harder to drink than most of its style. I would not choose this for sessioning.
OVERALL - 3.4
This beer definitely gets some credit for daring to be different. However, for me it is a little too different, as the toffee makes the beer less crisp and refreshing than it should be. The price was decent, and I would try it again.
