Initial impressions is that the label. Aesthically, but also offers no information with "Abbey" Ale, no ABV, and therefore an assumption for Belgian Dubbel, but instead it is Belgian Dark Strong Ale in ABV.
The beer comes in a deep copper to ruby brown with a fluffy off white head.
Aroma offers toasty malts, raisins, hints of chocolate, touches of spice, hints of clove, a bready sweetness throughout.
Flavor follows with a chewy toasty breadiness, chocolate, restrained amounts of raisin, a chewy and full mouthfeel, as it cuts off with alcohol towards the finish. Mouthfeel is lack the high prickling carb for the style. Aftertaste offering some melanoidin deep toasty malts.
