Canned on 08-20-20.
This pours an opaque, orange amber color with a frothy white head that has both legs and cling.
The aroma is classic IPA- candied orange wedges and pine, distinctly citrus but not "juicy" or syrupy or one note like so many. Good blend of complimentary and contrasting smells to smell here.
The flavor is spot on classic IPA again with solid malt up front balanced by firm hop bitterness late and a middle full of more malted orange wedges and crushed conifer needles.
The finish is mildly hoppy and dry, and overall this may be a bit thin and boring, lacking any unique character to set apart but having said that, I would lean toward this over 9/10 " hazy" or juicy 2X IPA's on the market any day.
Sometimes you just want a straight up Double IPA and this will fit the bill.
It's good and it's highly drinkable, hiding the 8.5% well in it's skirts.
