Had no plans to visit this place, but when we got to the ferry dock about an hour and a half before our ferry to Moorea, we looked around for a place to have a beer while we were waiting, and low and behold, we found "Les 3 Brasseurs".

Lots of outdoor seating, right on one of the main drags of Papeete, some seating indoors, a non smoking room, a bar, and a couple of TVs showing sports. Kind of a cool place to sit outside and people watch.

Quality is pretty average at best. Had the sampler of the 4 beers that they had at the moment, Wit, Blonde, Amber and Cherry beer. All were similar, and very simple tasting, but the only bad one was the Cherry that tasted like cough syrup mixed with beer.

Service was really good, speedy, pleasant, and helpful. Our server showed us a place to store our luggage, and then called a cab for us after our second visit before heading to the airport.

Food was decent, we had a sandwhich that was fairly tasty. About the best thing about it was that it wasn't super pricy like most everything else is in French Polynesia.

Prices are high, but not bad at all compared to other places.

Overall, worth a stop if you are heading to Moorea on the ferry. A good place to kill time, and at least have something to drink that's a bit better than Hinano.

Les 3 Brasseurs is located in downtown Papeete, across the street from the ferry dock. It is the only brew pub located in Tahiti and obviously situated to draw in the tourists coming in off the cruise ships. However, when I was there at night it seemed as though the local French ex-pats were the largest clientele contingent.

Anyway, lets get to the beer. Although they had 5 beers listed on their menu, only 3 were currently on tap. They also offered "beer cocktails" which I did not try. The three on tap were a blonde, amber and an amber brewed with honey. Overall, none of their beers jumped out at me. They were average at best, and at $7 a pop, a little pricey (but then again so is Tahiti so you have to factor in "Island costs"). In addition, I did not eat here but they are known for their sandwiches (particularly their ham and cheese) which are reasonably priced.

The best thing going at Les 3 Brasseurs is the people watching. The disgruntled French ex-pats and entertaining enough without the cruise ship tourists from all over the globe. Include the live music (the "band" the night I was their consisted of two women singing with a karaoke machine) and call it a night.
