Look: It pours brown with some red hues. It appears fairly clear and the head is light tan. Head retention is low.
Smell: There are various malt aromas. These aromas include molasses, toffee, and low nuts. It also has a cherry like note. The is a slight sherry aromas as well.
Taste: The flavors are highlighted by toffee and nuts. There is a bit of roast as well. It is malt balanced. There are some background notes of wood with a dried cherry flavor that is almost like pipe tobacco.
Feel: It has a full body what is quite rich in texture. There is pleasant alcohol warming. The wood and alcohol carry through the finish.
Overall, a malt driven beer with complex additions that feature some wood and dried fruit flavors and aromas.
