5/5/07- Had on tap at the Eel River Brewery in Eureka, CA.
Presentation- From the tap into an 8oz pour glass.
Appearance- Deep amber in color. 1/4 inch off white head. Decent patchy lacing.
Smell- Very nutty and almost smoky. Deep roasted malt nose as well.
Taste- Extreme hazelnut flavor. Tastes like munching on whole hazelnuts. This combines with a really deep and sweet malt backbone. A wee bit of hops in the back are there, but really don't play a role.
Mouthfeel- Kind of a milky-carbonated texture. Not really creamy, but not sure how else to describe it.
Drinkability- Awesome flavor and good all around. Puts Rogue Hazelnut to shame in taste.

On Draft at the Eel River Brewpub. Poured a deep garnet color wtth a small off-whiite head. Beautiful color. Nose was chocolate and coffee, wtih lots of hazelnuts. Mouthfeel was rich and creamy and flavor was roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and strongly hazelnut. Finish slightly bitter. If you like hazelnuts this is a good brew and is very well done.
