I'm stoked that only a couple others besides me have reviewed this one.
This pours with the largest head I've ever seen, including most of the Belgians that I've had. It's just incredible. It actually looks more like an IIPA than an APA. Hazy, cloudy, golden glowing brew here with that fluffy ass white head....
Smells fairly sweet sort of like a nice brown ale...Strange, but true. Smells a bit nutty and bready as well.
Strong bitterness to this one on the start, middle, and finish as well... Not what I was expecting at all. A bit bready and yeasty.. with a sour finish.
Glad I found this one to give it a try but I can't say that I'm crazy about it. However, I will probably buy a few more just to support the local fellows....

Review based on a prefilled growler. Pours an attractive, chill hazed, amber body with an ample offwhite head. Good retention and extravagant lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrusy hops with some red apple notes and toasty grain. Mouthfeel is average, with good carbonation and a light medium body. Taste is well balanced, with a citrusy hop dominance. Not overly bitter and some red apple notes soften the hops. Some toasted caramel notes underneath. Finishes a bit earthy. A really good APA from western Kentucky and very drinkable. I have to question the marketing strategy of the brewery, however, to try to sell this in stores in prefilled 64 oz growlers rather than 12 oz bottles. I wish them success as this a well made ale without any real flaws.

The second style to be produced by this new brewery, their APA is much better than the earlier hefeweizen. Poured a bright amber with good head retention. Some citrus hops notes in the aroma. Hops are prominent up front in the flavor, with a broad, slightly herbal bittering. Malt follows, with a touch of grain that tinged ever so slightly metallic at the finish, but not enough so as to put the beer off. This attribute seemed to fade as the beer warmed a bit.
Overall, a very nice product, and I would take this over Sam Adams or Sierra Nevada on tap any day. I hope the local consumers can appreciate the boldness of the hopping.
