Turm Bräu “Erntebier”
€2,90/,3L at the brewery on 20 September 2021
Notes: This is a harvest beer that contains wheat but it’s not a hefeweizen. Hazy deep chestnut colored body with deep amber highlights. Full head of dense white foam. Very good head retention and lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, soft spiciness, dark caramelish malt, and a whiff of orange peel. The flavor follows with notes of dark caramel, almost burnt sugar, dark fruit (plum, raisin), and a touch of orange. Median bitterness with a dry, earthy, and lightly spicy finish. Medium bodied and crisp with a seemingly natural, fine-bubbled, standard carbonation.

There are many more Bier styles in Deutschland than listed on Beeradvocate. Can we change this????
SO I'll put this in the "Hefe Weizen" list although not completely appropriate....Its definately using the same yeast but I assume with Dinkel or some other grains.
This little Hausbrauerei(brewpub) is nestled up in the small town of Freudenstadt located in the Schwarzwald.. I recently visited it and was very happy with the Bier as well as the food. Three Biers were on tap and they were having an American Night. Pretty funny to see actually. They had more American Flags than a George Bush Press Conference. Overkill would be an understatement. Anyways I would recommend the town and Hausbrauerei. On to my third Bier
Next up was the seasonal Bier, Erntebier. Ernte means harvest. This was a street I wont travel again. Pours up a creamy head and is a light straw color. The aroma is malty and caramel. The flavor is fruity, yeasty and malty. But the overwhelming aroma is butter, Diacetyl to be exact. At levels that made the Bier not enjoyable ..
