The style is German Strong Pilsner. Dark golden lager type with the sweetness of the pilsner malt, but a fine balance between bitterness, sweetness and alcohol.
A beer that smells of freshly cut hay and really tastes like real beer, brewed according to the old-fashioned method.

Copenhagen 16/5 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Orange and yellow version of Skagen's usual design with their characteristic white 16-pronged star on a red background.
Pours slightly unclear with a midsized white head. Settles as a thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with grassy, herbal notes. Caramel, cardboard and bread. Lightly toasted notes. Fresh grass.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, oily, lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while. Finish is caramel-ly.
Run of the mill slightly too sweet Märzen.
