Beautiful reddish-brown German-inspired lager. A modern Viennese or Bavarian beer.
Brewed on the occasion of HRH Crown Prince Frederik's visit to the brewery in August 2011.
Very flavorful and aromatic beer, and hopped with the good German Mittelfrüher hops. The beer is brewed with extra Munich malt, which gives the very characteristic malt flavor and aroma.

Copenhagen 12/5 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Skagen's usual design with logo - the white 16 pronged star on a red background - on a light beige label.
Pours unclear amber with a big off-white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surfe of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty odor mingling with a light grainy sourness and a touch of butter. Caramel, lightly toasted malts. Toffee and honey.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet bordering on being sugary. Lingers for a while. Finish is caramel-ly.
Very (too) much on the sweet side - even for a Vienna.
