Black, hoppy and velvety with a dense head. Suitable for heavy dishes or chocolate desserts. Oats are used here, which gives a creamy character. Bitterness, taste and aroma from the very popular American Cascade hops.

Copenhagen 8/8 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Skagen's usual design with a medieval viking-twist. Runes and an archaic font of letters.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a mid-sized, light beige head. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam just managing to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet, malty, roasted odor mingling with citric notes. Dark roasted malts with a touch of brown sugar. Rye bread. Grapefruit and citrus.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
A well-balanced and easily drinkable Black IPA. Good one.
