Deep malt character in both aroma and taste, with candy sweetness and a light licorice flavor.

Copenhagen 10/12 2020. 50 cl bottle from Skagen Bryghus. Skagens usual label design this time in burgundy with the bald chef riding a pig. They call it a Winter Warmer on the label.
Pours slightly unclear dark amber with a big off-white head. Settles as thin layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is medium intense with a strong almost sugary odor mingling with roasted, burnt notes. Brown sugar, toffee, dark fermented fruit like plum and raisins.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a rudimentary sourness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while. Finish is sugary.
Despite a modest ABV this sweet roasted brew lives up to the concept of being a winter warmer.
