Classic beer with a wonderful body and a good caramel taste, from caramel malt. Perfect for a cozy ferry crossing.

Copenhagen 30/7 2023. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Doggerbanke, Skagen. Skagen Bryghus’ usual design with an industrious ferry plowing through the waves. Made for the Læsø ferry.
Pours dark amber with a big off-bite head. Stable. Settles as thin but unbroken layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a hard roasted, malty aroma with a candy-like quality. Burnt brown sugar, toffee, caramel and nuts.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, slightly thick, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry and sweet.
A quite sweet Vienna with a burnt quality.
