Copenhagen 27/12 2025. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. A manic looking guy with a strange hat is leering at me from the label. The Mechanic, I presume.
Pours almost clear mahogany with a small off--white head. Stable. Settles as 0,3 cm thick layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sugary sweet malty odor mingling with an edge of alcohol. Sweet caramel and brown sugar. Toffee. Raisins and plums. Metallic alcohol.
Low carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sugary sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry with caramel galore.
Very sugary take on a Dubbel.
