Dark, full-bodied and spicy English Christmas ale, with an aroma/flavor of cardamom, orange, pepper and star anise.

Copenhagen 28/12 2015. 50 cl bottle from SuperBrugsen. Label with the characteristic white star on deep red background from the brewery.
Pours very dark red brown with an off-white head. Settles as a thin layer of foam. Lacing on the side of the glass.
Aroma is very sweet and laden with Christmas spice. Toffee, fermented sweet fruit, alcohol and anis. Raisins and plums. Whiff of cardamom.
Medium strong carbonation and thick palate. Lightly tingling, soft, smooth texture.
Flavor is not as sweet as indicated by the nose. Caramel, anis, mint and ginger.
Very christmassy but in my opinion they are overdoing the minty anis thing a bit.
