The bottle is closed by a wire and cork, just like Champagne bottles. This makes it hard to open, and I dont like it.
Ingredients: Barley malt, glucose, wheat, sugar, hops.
The colour is brown-red; the liquid is clear. The finger thick brown head sinks slowly leaving hints of lacing.
The smell is malty with some bitter-sweet and roasted notes. Some hints of metal, dried fruits and broth.
The taste is mildly roasted with some hints of sugar candy and a touch of salt. There are some wood aged notes, as well as notes of Belgian yeast. The mild and short aftertaste got some dry metallic bitterness, some minerals and a sweet roasted flavour.
The carbonation is strong a bit too strong for me. The liquid is watery.
According to the label, this beer is made to taste like the beers at the Royal banquets at the court of Frederik III (1609-1670). I doubt that. Strongly.
