Copenhagen 24/3 2022. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Drawing of a Lady with a forest combination of hat and hairdo on the label.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet and potent odor of malts and alcohol saturated wood. Brown sugar, toffee and dark fruits. Plum and raisins. Sweet liqueur peeking in.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly greasy, soft, and a bit sticky texture. Almost flat.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and boozy with a bitter undertone. Lingering. Finish is sweet lactose and alcohol. Sweet and potent - but I did not detect much coffee.
Nonetheless good old Billy Idol would be proud.
