Copenhagen 18/9 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. Drawing of chili plants with very ripe peppers on the label.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a light beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as Thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with lactose and some sourish grainy notes. Roasted dark malts, brown sugar and sour milk. A bit of capsicum lurking.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft, smooth, creamy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a lighter sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is first and foremost pretty hot with the chili chiming in. A bit of bitterness underneath. Lingering. Finish is a fading chili burn.
More chili than pastry. They are overdoing it a bit - but the sweetness makes it bearable.
