Emerging after over a year of cellar time, “Bomstærk” is a Belgian strong ale brewed with addition maple syrup and aged in whiskey barrels. This is a robust beer the color of deep mahogany with aromas of candied fruits, toffee and maple syrup. Delicate flavors of maple syrup, oak, whiskey, and toffee grow as the beer warms closer to room temperature, making this an ideal beer pair with a fine meal or to sip beside the fire.

Copenhagen 12/5 2021. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Rotunden, Hellerup. A very strong gentleman with a fine moustache and a very small, old-fashioned tanktop on the label.
Pours clear dark brown withe a red hue and a small off-white head. Bubbly. Disappears after a few seconds leaving what looks like Coca Cola behind. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a strong, boozy sweet odor promising me whisky and sugar. Brown sugar, toffee, dark fruit, cherries, and syrup. Dark, sweet alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a modest sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a lightly sourish undertone. Lingering. Finish is sweet yet semi-dry.
Really nice winter warmer which packs a notable punch.
