Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout

Whisky Business is a fantastic collaboration with our good friends at the Flying Couch brewery. This Russian Imperial Stout is brewed with a large amount of malt, after which it is stored in Stauning Whiskey barrels. This has given the beer a warm, strong and full-bodied taste of oak and vanilla.
Malt: Carafa Special III, Pale Ale Malt, Munich Malt, Cara Cafe, Chocolate Malt, Fuglsang 100EBC.
Hops: Northern Brewer.
Aroma: Whiskey and coffee.
Yeast: BRY-97.

Pours opaque dark brown with a minuscule off-white head. Bubbly. Disappears after a few seconds leaving a dark somber fluid behind. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet and roasted malty odor mingling with sharp alcohol and an earthy scent. Brown sugar, roasted dark malts, coffee and sharp whisky. Hints of boozy wood.
Low carbonation. Medium thick oily, a bit greasy, soft, flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderatley strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and rather boozy. Lingering. Finish is sweet and soaked in alcohol.
Wholesome Barrel Boozer.
