Silkeborg 22/7 2020. 50 cl bottle from Fanø Bryghus. Clouds of Cinnamon on the label as this beer celebrates the tradition of smothering 25 year old unmarried youngsters in cinnamon.
Pours opaque dark brown with a medium-sized beige head. Stable. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass.
Aroma is intense with a strong sweet odor mingling with Christmas spices. Brown sugar, caramel, lactose. Cinnamon and nutmeg. A bit of peat. Sour grainy notes.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, slightly greasy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and lingers for a while. Finish is sourish and burnt.
Well made. A stout inoculated with Cinnamon. I like my Christmas cookies just fine but just like the passing rituals with Cinnamon it is a bit too much of a concept for me.
