Dark in color and thick in body with an exceptionally smooth finish, Canute has rich aromas of coffee and dark chocolate that blend with the flavors of raisins and brown sugar.

Rindby 15/7 2020. 33 cl bottle from Fanø Bryghus. Dark blue label with a tiny portrait of the Canute mentioned in the name of the beer. A part of Fanø’s Danish Imperial Series.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a small dark, beige head. Settles as flimsy, thin layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a strong, sweet - almost sugary - odor mingling with sharp bitter sourness and strong boozy whiff of alcohol. Brown sugar, dark chocolate, cocoa. Dark, roasted malts. Coffee. Leather. Dark alcohol.
Light carbonation. Thick, smooth, fat, creamy and lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a bitter undercurrent. Lingering. Finish is semi-dry and boozy.
A potent, sweet but well-balanced, Imperial boozer.
