A spicy imperial porter aged for six months in a combination of rye and whiskey casks from Stauning Whiskey. It has notes of vanilla, coffee and chocolate from the porter, supported by oak, licorice and a smoky aroma from several months of barrel ageing. Has a surprisingly smooth finish.

Billund 18/7 2020. 50 cl bottle from Fanø Bryghus. What looks like an ancient fisherman who has drunk his share of whisky and rye on the label.
Pours opaque dark brown with a medium-sized light beige head. Bubbly. Settles as thin remnants of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is dark and intense with a strong boozy presence of alcohol. Sweet dark fruit, salty licorice and brown sugar. Peaty odor of whisky and alcohol.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, greasy, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong, sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and laden with alcohol. Finish has a light boozy burn.
Potent and strong with a no nonsense boozy appeal.
